Holiday Treasures DSP

23 11 2009

When I first saw the Holiday Treasures papers in the catalogue I was sure I didn’t like them. I did a 6×6 paper share with other demos and when I got the papers I totally changed my mind about alot of the papers.

I really fell for the Holiday Treasures papers (and fell out of love with others) I truly believe that it’s so much easier to decide when you can see them in real life which is why I set up my Inspiration Book, so if you’re ever at a class or workshop of mine and you’d like to see them in real life you can.

Spotlight on Christmas & Holiday Treasures DSP

Want to know what the best part about using designer series papers on your cards and for scrapbooking is? The colour combo is all ready for you, which takes the guess work out of deciding what colours go with it.

Something different for me!

19 11 2009

Anyone who knows me, will know that I absolutely love my Lovely as a Tree stamp set. I use it for masculine projects all the time, as well as Christmas cards, sympathy cards it really can be used for a lot of different occassions and believe me when I first laid eyes on it there was no way I was going to buy it! Then my upline bombarded me with samples made using the set and I was hooked!

A lovely tree Christmas card!

A manly matchbook style spotlight technique card.

This is just two ways that I’ve used this set recently and I’m still loving it. We’ve also used this set with embossing, thumping and a few other fun techniques, so I challenge you to see how many ideas you can come up with using the same stamp set?

Baja & Olive Christmas

18 11 2009

This year I’m trying to get away from the traditional Red & Green christmas, why because it gets a little monotonous and because I’ve discovered that not every one likes the traditional Christmas colours (gasp!)

Spotlight on Christmas in Baja Breeze, Old Olive and Not Quite Navy.

I really had a lot of fun with this card. It had a lot of layers so it’s a little bulky but totally worth the effort to make and I think it looks more involved than it actually is.

A Christmas Case

17 11 2009

I cased this card from a fellow SU! demo and I believe her name was Deb. If you know exactly who I’m talking about please leave a comment. I originally copied the idea pretty much exactly and then realised if I did a little bit of colour changing it’d make a great Chrissy card.

Eastern Blooms for Christmas!

I know you might be thinking but this isn’t a Christmas set! And you’re totally right but all of the ladies in class loved the idea of using something non-christmassy to make something christmassy! Make sense?? I’m a total believer in using what you have so if you don’t have a xmas set and can’t really afford to buy some right now, think of ways you can use what you have.

A different kind of Christmas card

15 11 2009

I love Christmas! Without a doubt it’s my absolute favourite holiday! And not just because of the presents LOL! So far this year we have made a lot of Christmas cards in classes and by far my favourites are the ones that double as a gift giver.

When looking at the front of this card you might think well yeah it’s a Christmas card, so what? Well it’s not just an ordinary card you see when you open the real red cardstock piece on the front you get this…

A really handy place to put a gift card! It's the perfect size to hide one and all you'd need is some 2 way glue (let it go tacky) and place it inside!

If you’d like to know more about making these for yourself or you’d like to order the supplies to make your own contact me by calling/sms: 0406 057 751 or email: hcarruthers@live.com

Forest Friend Birthday

13 11 2009

I’m not 100% definately happy with this card but I don’t think my daughter will mind that too much when she gets it with her 5th birthday present in January! LOL!

November Countdown

11 11 2009

November is all about counting down to Christmas, but this year we aren’t just counting down to the tree, presents and cards. We’re going to count down to saying Goodbye to the Spring Mini Catalogue and all of the fabulous products in it. It’s now the 11th of November which means you have just 19 more days to purchase your favourite things from the Mini before they are potentially gone forever!

One of my absolute favourite sets from this mini is Great Friend, I’ve used this set alot over the last couple of months (just ask the ladiess who have come to all of my classes since the mini started LOL!) we’ve used it on cards, scrapbook pages, more cards and I still totally love it!

A Christmas Card Share

10 11 2009
100_6897

I was inspired to make this card when I saw one just like it on SCS, what can you find to inspire you to create??

We made this beautiful card at our Christmas card class a couple of weeks ago. I’m really happy with the way that it turned out and you might not be able to tell but the middle flower is stamped on the white piece and the other two were cut out and mounted on with dimensionals to pop them up more and give the whole card a bit of wow factor!!

Stamps: Upsy Daisy

I love making these envelopes, they are quick, simple and highly gorgeous! We made this one at a workshop a month or two ago and all of the ladies loved it!

Instructions:

Seal your envelope, cut off 4.5 to 5cms from one end, stamp/decorate larger piece (background only), run through your crimper, add focal image and slide it into your 5cm topper piece and wa-lah you have an instantly cool way to package a gift card!

Set: Season of Joy

Here’s another example, while the first one is great for birthdays or thank you’s this one is great for putting on someones christmas tree as their present. I also love the scalloped edge on the topper, it’d also look fancy using the eyelet border punch!
