A priceless card

9 07 2009

As I don’t have any recent projects to show you, I thought I’d pull some out of the vault. These will be cards you haven’t previously seen posted here and I’ll try to find ones using only current materials if possible.

I came up with this card for a workshop but didn’t really like it enough to use it! Maybe it was the colour combo, I’m not sure, whatever it was it just wasn’t really my style.

Priceless Set. Colours:Pumpkin Pie, Taken with Teal, River Rock and Purely Pomegranate

Priceless Set. Colours:Pumpkin Pie, Taken with Teal, River Rock and Purely Pomegranate

This year I’d change out the colours to Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Sahara Sand and Baja Breeze I think. Maybe add a scallop circle and a bit of glitter and we’d be all set. You can place an order at anytime via email hljdbns@bigpond.com or phone 0406 057 751

Update

6 07 2009

Hi all, sorry it’s been so long, it’s really frustrating not having a computer to upload photo’s on, hopefully I’ll have my computer back by the end of the week. I didn’t want to leave you with another boring no photo’s post LOL so I’m including a pic of a card I made for a customer when she had her baby. It uses the Nursery Neccessities set and I was really happy with the way it turned out.

I can’t wait til my computer is up and running again and I can show you the projects we made at my class this weekend and then I’ll be able to show you what projects I’m planning for my Spring Mini Catalogue Launch on August 22nd.

Changes

12 06 2009

Some of you may already know this and others might not, but while I still can’t show you pictures of anything I’ve been creating lately (which covers a lot of stuff {sigh}) I still want to keep in touch with you all and tell you about what is happening in the Stampin’  Up! world.

Here in Aus we are undergoing a transition year, this year’s very beautiful new catalogue is getting a life extension until August 31st 2010. This means our 2010/2011 Catalogue begins September 1st 2010, because we are getting to keep this catalogue longer we will get 3 instead of 2 mini catalogues this year.

The best news is that our Spring 2009 Mini Catalogue starts August 1st!! and it will run until the end of November. Nobody knows yet what will be in it, though I am sure it will be gorgeous and exciting (Mini’s always are!) and I’m sure you will all love it. I will be having a Spring Mini Catalogue Launch Party on August 8th so keep checking my Classes page for more information.

Giveaway Winner!

18 05 2009

We have a winner and I wish I’d been able to post this earlier but unfortunately I had no computer until today due to a cracked laptop screen.

Our winner is a new subscriber to my newsletter and I’d like to welcome her and say an official congratulations to nobanana_au.  I’ll be emailing you soon so you can claim your goodies and enjoy making cards and projects.

Thank you to all of you who entered the drawing and I’m looking forward to doing another one soon!

Catalogue Card 2

15 05 2009

So for the second part of this challenge I had to copy the layout and design of a card but change the colours and stamp sets and the card that really stood out to me was the one on page 81.

It was classic, clean and fairly simple. I changed the colours to chocolate chip, kiwi kiss and pacific point with a hint of rose red. I like the way it turned out but I’m not totally in love with it either. Without further ado here it is for your viewing pleasure. I’ve used one of the new sets called Three Little Words.

So that is my completed card. Coming soon is the announcement of who has won my BIG GIVEAWAY prize! If you haven’t yet entered you still have a little time as I’ll be drawing the winner this Saturday afternoon using random.org.

If you have any question regarding this card or wish to purchase any of the Stampin’ Up! projects used to make it then email me at hljdbns@bigpond.com

Catalogue Copy Challenge

14 05 2009

As a part of a business booster course I am taking I was challenged to case from the catalogue in two ways. The first was to copy a card exactly as it appears in the catty and the second was to copy a layout and design of the card but to change the colours and stamps.

For the first card I chose to copy the card on page 39 it’s small basic and not really my style but that was the fun part. This card was easy to recreate.

100_6442

I really enjoyed this challenge, it shows just how easy it is to use the catalogue as a jumping off point for your creativity. I think I’ll be doing this challenge again soon.

To enquire into any supplies I used or to purchase the supplies through me email me at hljdbns@bigpond.com. I’ll be back with the card for the second part of this challenge soon.

Thanks So Much Matchbook

25 04 2009

I wanted to do something different and I thought a Matchbook card would suffice as I’d like to give our neighbours a gift one day soon to say thanks for being so generous and kind to us over the past year.

I’m going to buy them a gift card of some description and a matchbook is a good way to house it as you can tuck it into the bottom flap and secure it from the sides with the slit punch.

thanksmatchbook

I’ve used another two new In Colors on this Pink Pirouette and Pacific Point (dark blue) the green is my favourite Old Olive. I wanted to keep it simple so I used the circle flower from Boho Backgrounds on the base and the leaves and sentiment are from a new set called Greetings Eight.

So the image doesn’t “break away” from the front when you slide it into the matchbook I’ve attached it with dimesionals so that it’s more flexible.

Hello Friend

23 04 2009

I am doing good, thanks for all of your understanding. The last couple of weeks have been pretty tough but the whole family is doing ok so far. I did get the chance to make a couple of cards and I want to share one of them with you now.

I’ve used two of the new In Colors on this one, Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze, my card was originally inspired by this one that Sarah Klass did. I changed things a little but the overall concept is the same and I have to say that I am very happy with it, despite the fact that I didn’t like Baja Breeze much when I first saw it, I was expecting it to be much more blue than it actually is.

hellocard

I’ve used the new Good Friend set for this one and my favourite basic phrases set. I’m going to be sending this one to my Nana so she know we are thinking of her, because after 56 years of marriage it’s got to be tough to now have to live on your own.

Happy crafting til next time and treasure all that you have.

P.S Don’t forget to enter the giveaway a few posts down. I’m extending the date and keeping it open til Friday May 15th with a winner to be chosen the following day!!
